The more significant improvement is for the 270 vanilla (sufferin’ suffixes), which is the successor to the 7850. Otherwise as 7870 was already a fully-enabled Pitcairn part, 270X contains the same 20 CUs and 32 ROPs. More significant is its memory clockspeed bump, which will see the memory clockspeed go from 4.8GHz to 5.6GHz, an improvement of 800MHz or 17%. On the GPU side it has received a minor clockspeed bump from the implementation of PowerTune Boost, pushing the peak clockspeed from 1000MHz to 1050MHz, a 50MHz (5%) bump. This is the direct successor to the 7870, designed to offer improved performance within roughly the same power envelope. The entire 270 series is being equipped with AMD’s PowerTune Boost 1.0 technology to enable some basic turbo functionality, while both cards are also receiving higher memory clocks (5.6GHz) that come courtesy of reworked boards designed to maximize the capabilities of Pitcairn’s memory controller.ĭiving into matters, we first have the 270X. What’s old is of course Pitcairn, while what’s new are higher performance configurations being enabled by slow yield improvements and more significant board design improvements. The end result is that the 270X and 270 are a mix of old and new, launching at a lower price. By doing this AMD is formally pushing Pitcairn into the sub-$200 market, and at the same time they’re doing so under a new name as to avoid having such a low price attached to the 80/800 sub-series name. But for the 270 series AMD isn’t consolidating anything – there were only two Pitcairn products in the first place – so instead it’s a performance bump coupled with a lesser price cut. The 280X was in part a consolidation of the two 7970 cards into a single middle of the road SKU, and in part a price cut for that performance tier down to $299. With the R9 270 series AMD is taking a slightly different route than they did with the 280X. They are in essence the successors to the 78, the previous video card family that Pitcairn called home. Both of these parts are based on AMD’s venerable Pitcairn GPU, which post-shuffle is being moved from AMD’s $200+ enthusiast cards to their sub-$200 mainstream cards. The 270X actually launched almost a month ago – a result of the 200 series launch blast its repurposed GPUs – while we’re just now catching up to the 270 series today, with the launch of the lower tier R9 270. The Radeon R9 270 series is composed of two products, the 270X and the 270, with the X indicating the higher performing part in AMD’s new naming scheme. We’ve already seen the first step of that process with the launch of the Radeon R9 280X, and now we’re ready to take a look at the next step with the Radeon R9 270 series. So the company has set forth on a plan to introduce a new high-end GPU for the top of their market (the 290 series), while the mainstream and lower markets will receive new products based on existing GPUs. GCN is an architecture with long legs, and the GPUs cut from it being equally as long legged. This hasn’t prevented AMD from bringing around new products or bringing down the price-to-performance ratio of their lineup, but it has required a different kind of launch than what they would do in previous years.įor AMD, the new reality of doing another product cycle at 28nm has meant that AMD’s product plans for the end of 20 have involved a lot of shifting of GPUs and prices. Whereas in previous years we’d seen one or both firms roll out a number of new GPUs, 2013 will be the year where we only see one new GPU from each, and those GPUs were at the high-end. The slow development of the next generation of manufacturing processes from fab partner TSMC has required both AMD and NVIDIA to get a bit creative in how they want to roll out products, along with how they want to promote and position those products. The Radeon 200 series was a different kind of launch from AMD than anything we’ve seen from them before.

Alternatively, you can use this to leap away from the crowd should you need breathing room from strong foes to restore HP. Leap Attack is another decent ability because it lets you jump on top of mobs from a distance. But regardless of whether or not you intend to deal great burst damage or support your teammates, one good Active Skill to equip is Resurrection Warcry, which lowers the damage you take while regaining Life over time. What’s really cool about this class is his high max Life so he can act as a tank in groups. Both stats are going to be very useful against bosses given that you do not move as fast compared to the other heroes. Next, you should consider increasing Dexterity in order to boost your attack speed and evasion. What’s more, is that your max Life also increases for better survivability. Once the maximum level is reached, Rehan enters Berserk, allowing him to deal massive burst damage to one-hit regular enemies.įor Berserker Rehan’s core attribute, you will want to invest in Strength the most to clear mobs faster due to your amplified melee damage. This class is your typical Berserker who excels in hammering down enemies with ease in the melee range using swords, axes, and you guessed it, hammers! He accumulates a special resource known as Rage upon inflicting melee damage and taking damage. Torchlight: Infinite Open Beta Class Guide – Berserker Rehanīerserker Rehan is a powerful and beginner-friendly hero to play because of how straightforward he is to pilot. We will go through each of them in terms of their unique specializations and what you can expect. This ARPG’s different playstyles include Berserker Rehan, Divineshot Carino, Frostfire Gemma, Spacetime Illusion Youga, and Commander Moto. Unlike skills, you need to make use of Oblivion Points to reallocate the talents you ought to experiment with for your build before hitting Level 80. While you are starting, it is best to choose the main Talent Tree for your class to improve synergy. Talents, on the other hand, are passives with multiple panels. You will only have to redistribute Energy for the latter to take effect. Active and Passive Skills can be freely swapped and linked to other Support and Trigger Skills. For instance, Ice Bond is a Cold Spell that can be cast by Spacetime Illusion Youga or Frostfire Gemma to freeze enemies and deal decent Spell Damage. Meanwhile, some skills are shared across multiple classes so it will be up to you to decide the route to take. Rather than manually allocating points into them, you equip gear and invest in talent nodes to do so. Lastly, Intelligence gives extra Mana and Energy Shield, which is your first line of defense. Strength grants additional Life or HP and melee damage while Dexterity provides attack and cast speed boosts as well as better evasion. There are several attributes to take note of including Strength, Dexterity, and Intelligence. Torchlight: Infinite features 5 basic classes with their own attributes, skills, and talents. Physical backups are the foundation of any sound backup and recovery strategy. The Data Pump command-line clients expdp and impdp use the DBMS_DATAPUMP and DBMS_METADATA PL/SQL packages. You can use Oracle Data Pump to export logical data to binary files, which you can later import into the database. Logical backups contain logical data such as tables and stored procedures. Ultimately, every physical backup is a copy of files that store database information to another location, whether on disk or on offline storage media such as tape. These files include data files, control files, and archived redo logs. Physical backups are copies of the physical files used in storing and recovering a database. A backup can be either a physical backup or a logical backup. A backup is a copy of data of a database that you can use to reconstruct data. To access it, open the menu from the SteamVR Status box and hit Display VR View. For both eyes it does give a slight transparency bar towards the centre where it merges the two but it's still fine. See also: our first VR livestream VOD.Īdditionally, it's better to capture the VR View, rather than the game window as you can set it to capture both eyes to give viewers a much wider angle and it just looks better. I found that out the hard way with ruined footage due to a nice big cursor in the middle of it. If you're going to capture footage with OBS Studio, ensure you have unchecked the option to capture your mouse cursor. Notes for streamers and video content creators No fancy steps needed, because Steam handles everything rather gracefully for you it's just so damn impressive. Plug it in, install SteamVR and some games and that's pretty much it overall. Even so, the standing option still has quite a bit of leeway on foot movement.ĭon't have much more to say on the setup, because there's really not much to it. That said, I nearly punched out a window and walked into a wall and a door - so standing-only it is with not too much movement. You don't actually need a space that big which was something of a surprise. Initially trying out the room scale, where you need to map out your area by walking around while holding down a controller trigger, it only just gave me the okay with a few gentle area tweaks. I only have quite a small space to do my VR in too, and even here it works very well. VR overall is still pretty much in its infancy really and to have Valve support it like this on Linux is again amazing - when you think about the small user share of the operating system for the desktop. Whoever has been working on the Linux side of SteamVR at Valve - keep it up, you're doing awesome. So even though they don't seem to consider it properly stable for Linux yet, the situation is still technically extremely impressive. Technically, according to Valve's GitHub SteamVR is still a development release for Linux. You don't even have to opt into any Beta, or resort to anything on the command line, everything is nicely in the Steam UI. Honestly, on an up to date Linux distribution - the SteamVR setup is ridiculously easy. It tells you when an update is available, you click a button and it just does it. Updating firmware for the Headset and both Controllers also worked perfectly. I did have one issue, which is audio not auto-switching to the headset but adjusting that quickly with PulseAudio Volume Control that makes it really easy to switch things around. Read the instructions, plug everything in correctly and load the VR settings to calibrate things. Seriously, it can't get any easier than this. Being much more than pleasantly surprised, it was click and play. I was expecting to come across lots of issues getting it all setup. I stayed mostly away from it and didn't follow much - oh how wrong I have been all this time. The big point was the idea of having a weighty device strapped to my face did not appeal to me. Partly because of the price factor, which is a genuine issue to adoption, especially with the more limited VR options on Linux with just the HTC Vive and the Valve Index. Unlike some, I wasn't originally sold on VR - at all. Now it is also possible to change all keyboard layout to adapt it to what you need.It is time! I finally have a Valve Index with thanks to supporter Scaine and it has genuinely blown a few braincells away with just how incredible an experience it actually is. That also necessitated adding Unicode support to the LibInputSynth library. It was a developer who implemented this system with support for emojis, with 56 available languages, etc. Since OpenXR, the API on which it is based, does not expose a text input, its creators had to implement their own system. The main improvement of xrdesktop is your new virtual reality keyboard. There have even been contributions from people who got involved in the xrdesktop project from Google Summer of Code (GSoC) with very diverse results. The free and open source project compatible with Linux and to bring a VR space, will now allow to place windows on top of each other, have a virtual keyboard, etc.Īn incredibly promising project and in which many efforts have been put in to improve the possibilities of the virtual reality on the GNU / Linux desktop. Xrdesktop It will allow you to turn your desktop into a virtual reality space thanks to the update that Collabora has brought. |
